The first known city for me which always welcome people from anywhere around the world with his warmth(mostly sunny 😉). People here are always enjoy the time whenever and wherever they go. Either local tea shops or malls. Yes we know to cherish each and every moment of life. You can get friends so easily from anywhere roadside without any partiality.
Because here we don't ask for your caste to be friend with you. We don't ask your surname like some other place. It's the place many people comes from different places for work and earn. It's the only city which will still make them feel warmth with it's charming smile, though they scold for it's climate. I have seen many people scolding Chennai like anything for it's climate and it's machine life.
But people here knows well to relax at the marina beach (world's second longest beach) in the evening. That sand house made by kids, the sound of the shores, the smell of fried fishes 😋, corn, especially hot bhajjis 😍😍😍😍😍 makes you go crazy. It's all enough for us to be relaxed during weekend. Trust me Chennai has the best place for relaxation in the middle of so called machine life.
If you go other cities you will feel good taste when eating their speciality. But Chennai is the place where you get not only Chennai speciality but different cuisines and also you will never be disappointed in taste. Chettinad, andhra,North Indian, moghal,Italian, mexican, almost all western.
Chennai also has some disadvantages like not so good in taste at some places. I agree. But it's one of the best place on earth to taste wonderful food if you go to the place known by chennaities.
It's the only city which makes you feel it's our own city instead thinking my own city. No ego, no partiality if anyone from other city or state. We don't name you know like how others name us from other cities an states. Because we see the human in them and not the race.
You could see I have mentioned it's the only city at many places. Yes I am so proud to say that. Not every city people can say that. That's the speciality of Chennai.

Don't know the language?
Speak in English, Chennai is not the place where you can see people speak only one regional language. We have people from different cities and states and countries. We don't force or impose our language on you like other cities does. If you go out of Chennai, most of the places where people would ask you to learn their language. But in Chennai we try to communicate in your language though we don't know. It's kind of funny I know. But try is a try and helping is helping. Here people do speak in English. We never impose language on anyone. Don't expect us to speak in your language forcibly in Chennai. Because I have seen people just force us to speak their regional languages at their places. In Chennai it won't happen. If we need we learn, when you impose we oppose. As simple as that.
When it comes to reading, we have Anna centenary library. The library has a special section for Braille, children's books and manuscripts etc. The building is designed in such a way that the reading area receives good daylight. The western end is flanked by the service areas to prevent solar radiation. The seven-storey atrium allows in abundant natural light.
For shopping,
Mc road, purasaiwalkam,T nagar are the areas where many textiles, jewellery shops are very famous. I do remember eating cone ice cream for just Rs.5/- when we go for shopping. It was the lovely memories about shopping. Nowadays we just book online or go nearby shops to buy clothes. But it was heavenly feel to travel in bus and that excitement to buy new clothes occasionally for diwali,pongal and for our birthday.
For entertainment,
Cinemas, malls etc. Nowadays most of them forget about children's park,snake park, planetarium. It was really wonderful memories especially when we went with our friends arranged by school. Excursion was like dream for many students. And yeah now we have cinemas and malls together. But still you can't get real satisfaction like you enjoy at the beach.
